Southside Film: Bringing film back to Glasgow’s Southside.

In 2001 the last cinema  in the Southside of Glasgow closed its doors. Ten years later, in 2011, Southside Film was launched to bring film back to the area. Southside Film now screens films and hosts film events year round across numerous venues.  Wherever we can put up a screen, we will!

We run screenings throughout the year-our next screening is Where You’re Meant to Be a music documentary with Aidan Moffet of Arab Strap, followed by a Q&A with the director, on Tuesday 8 November in The Glad Cafe.

In July 2016 we put on a weekend long festival called Wee Green Cinema, a bicycle and solar powered cinema at Pollokshields Playhouse in association with Pollywood and supported by Big Lottery Awards for All.

Last year the film festival ran from 8-11 October, 2015 – view  the programme here
