Welcome

Southside Film: Bringing film back to Glasgow’s Southside.

Pollokshaws Burgh Hall
View from the balcony of the beautiful Pollokshaws Burgh Hall, home of the only Wurlitzer Cinema Organ in Scotland.

In 2001 the last cinema  in the Southside of Glasgow closed its doors. Ten years later, in 2011, Southside Film was launched to bring film back to the area. Southside Film now screens films and hosts film events year round across numerous venues.  Wherever we can put up a screen, we will!

We were at Langside Halls for Doors Open Day 15-16 September –more info here We are also part of a consortium working with the Langside Hall Trust to programme that halls in the future and we would love to hear what you think about a possible community cinema at Langside Halls and what you would like to see there if there was a cinema there. If you can, please take 5 mins to complete this feedback form here to let us know what you think.

The 2018 festival ran 1-3 June 2018 -check out the print programme here and individual daily listings here Watch the festival trailer here

This year’s festival was supported by the Glasgow City Council Arts Development Fund and by our screening partners Alliance Francaise Glasgow and Alzheimer Scotland Action on Dementia and Scottish CND all of our screening venues particularly The Glad Cafe and Langside Church Hall.
