Southside Film is a community interest organisation run by a small group of passionate volunteers who love film and want to do something positive in our community. Southside Film programmes and produces ‘pop up’ film screenings and events in various non cinema spaces in the Southside of Glasgow throughout the year. Our events simply wouldn’t happen without the support and hard work of our team of volunteers.
We are always looking for new volunteers and there are a variety of opportunities for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to get involved/ get experience in.
We are looking for new volunteers to help with our monthly screenings and plan the next Southside Film Festival.
We are specifically looking for volunteers with the following:
An interest in programming film screenings and events.
An interest in graphic design and a knowledge of inDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator.
An interest in press and digital marketing and a desire to get experience in writing web and social media updates, blogging, film reviewing or writing press releases and marketing materials.
A desire to get experience in video projection and technical assistance for screenings.
An interest in funding applications and development.
An interest in event logistics/production.
An interest in photography and filmmaking including digital camera work and editing.
A desire to get Front of House and customer service experience.
Volunteering with us is a great way to gain experience working in a film and events environment with a community focus, to meet new people and to see new films. You can expect to gain experience as part of a friendly team working on many different tasks, which can be tailored to suit your interests and skills- it is a great opportunity to get practical hands-on experience. Southside Film strives to provide a good volunteering experience which is both worthwhile and fun.
